Banners for Pentecost, Christmas, and Lent

As an aid to worship at Central, members of the congregation have designed and made banners relevant to the seasons of the church year.

Members and friends of the church have produced seven banners and pulpit falls to accompany them.  The banners cover Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Pentecost, Harvest and a seventh for ‘ordinary time’ (that is, parts of the year not covered by other festival times). The much-admired banners and pulpit falls are all to our own designs and were created over a period of five or six years.

Deliberately, most of the banners have no text, allowing viewers to find their own message. The only exception is the Easter banner, marking the highlight of the Christian year, which contains the simple text: “He is risen”.
